Shani Bites

by Gordon Korman

This is a good little series. I like how each author has had their own voice, while sticking with the overall story. I thought there was a bit more character development in this installment. I enjoy listening to this series to and from w...

The Trades - Book Review: Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, Book 1)

White Cat by Holly Black

I liked this book, it was fast paced and hard to put down. When I started reading, I realized I was already 1/2 way through. Black provided a dark tone to a different "under world." The fae are not involved with this story, but there still lots of magic! Set in a parallel universe (Fringe shout out! ), Cassel's family are "curse workers." Curse working is illegal, and curse workers are considered scoundrels and con artists. While Cassel is the only non-worker in the family, he is well accustomed to working a good con. He is not completely innocent; in fact, he murdered his friend Lila three years ago. Or did he? Black created a great story of suspense, backstabbing family members, mobsters, and magic. I will be waiting for the next installment of this series.

Vamps, weres, and other sups all return in the month of June. Yes, vampires and wolves of the Pacific Northwest will make their appearance at the end of the month in Eclipse. And for the grown-ups, the menageries of sups from Bon Temps arrive Sunday!

Richelle Mead makes me so frustrated. Why? I have to wait for the next installment of VA! This was a great part to the series. She included quite a few twists and turns. I actually clapped at the end. Loved it. I am going to have to read it again!
